Get every student on board with reading, one picture book at a time

The Confetti Bookshelf Vault is a library of resources for upper elementary teachers who want to build confident, independent readers.  The vault is packed full of picture book lists and resources that support your standards and curriculum.

With each picture book resource, you’ll build reading stamina, create confetti moments, and show reluctant readers the magic in every book.

Open the Magic with me!

You’re reading to a tough crowd.  Some students devour the story, while others do just about anything else.

  • Half the class zones out when you open a book
  • Engaging students in reading is tough, and getting them to think deeper about reading is a whole other battle
  • Finding stories that support your standards is time-consuming
  • Extension activities take a long time to plan and prepare

You’ve heard about the power of picture books, but you’re not sure how to make them work for upper elementary students (won’t they be too basic??) or how to connect to your standards (you don’t have time for one more thing!).

Then, you find The Confetti Bookshelf Vault!

You want to create lifelong readers…

But you’re not sure how

You’ve tried all the popular strategies to inspire a love of reading –

  • Googling book lists for upper elementary students online
  • Taking students to the library to pick out their own book
  • Buying comic books and graphic novels for your classroom library
  • Reading popular chapter books in class
  • Doing book talks, first chapter Fridays, and reading challenges

But not much has changed.  Your struggling readers are still struggling.  And you’re stressed over finding time for these strategies.  Not to mention, you feel lost on how to turn these moments into meaningful reading experiences.

Reading has some serious competition

It feels hard to engage students in reading because you are fighting a bigger battle.  Video games, YouTube, and social media have trained students’ brains to expect constant stimulation.  Sitting down with a book can’t compete with that…unless you have the right tools.

The Confetti Bookshelf Vault is filled with doable, low-lift reading resources that build stamina and engage event the most reluctant readers.  The resources inside make it easy to slip meaningful activities into your daily routine.

Where reluctant readers become the ones asking to read more

You’re not asking for much.  You just want to see –

  • All students, including SPED and EL students, engaged in reading

  • Students actively participating in meaningful reading activities

  • SEL as a part of your daily routine (without adding more to your plate)

  • Students reading confidently and independently

  • A shared joy in the love of reading

And that’s exactly what you’ll experience with The Confetti Bookshelf Vault!

The Teacher Behind the Vault

I am Courtney, the veteran teacher behind Ramona Recommends and the Confetti Bookshelf vault.

I wasn’t always the kid who loved reading.  In third grade, I was diagnosed with dyslexia and an auditory processing disorder.  Reading was a struggle.  With time, though, I found ways to work with my brain, and my love of reading grew.

I created the Confetti Bookshelf vault to support every reader in your classroom.  I want your students to fall in love with reading and have their own confetti moments.  With this vault, students will find their confidence in reading, build reading stamina, and strengthen their ELA skills, so reading becomes something fun, not a chore.
